M A I N B E D R O O M
This room has taken me a couple of years to decide what to do! We painted it all white when we moved in and I’ve given it a couple of quick makeovers but it always seemed low on the priority list. Plus I just kept changing my mind on what I actually wanted to do!
I’m so glad I waited as I wouldn‘t have done a lime washed wall 6 months ago. I discovered Bauwerk colour on Instagram as saw lots of people using it abs instantly fell in love with the look it gave. It makes a room look a little rustic with a sophisticated twist and yet is also quite calming. Perfect for a bedroom! I used the colour ‘Witch Hazel’ which is a lovely warm beige and painted only the one wall behind the bed. The rest of the room has been left white.
I’ve known for a while that I wanted a new bed frame also. The old bed frame was nice but it was grey and fabric and just not our style anymore. I found it hard to find a nice Superking bed frame as not many companies do a big variety of designs in this size. I then discovered Land of Beds who sold an amazing oak framed superking bed frame and it was perfect. I ordered it a while ago and glad I did as it took around 5 months to arrive!
The most exciting part of this project was that I had the opportunity to work with Maidon Du Monde. They sell the most beautiful furniture and sent me our bedside tables, chest of drawers, mirror and planter to use in the bedroom. These items really made the room what it is and it wouldn’t have the same feel without them (PR items). The quality of their furniture is really up there with some of the best I’ve seen.
I also did a wardrobe upcycle which I gave written a separate blog post on.
We had Roman blinds before but I opted to change to curtains this time. I bought some lovely natural coloured curtains from John Lewis in the colour ‘Putty’ and they really added more texture and a different feel to the room.
I was also sent a beautiful rug from Rug Love which added another texture and finished the room off perfectly.
In the Maison Du Monde planter I decided to use an arrangement of dried flowers instead of a plant. I really felt this complimented the lime washed wall and looked beautiful with the contrasting black.
The light fitting and wall lights were purchased from H&M but unfortunately are now out of stock. My large wreath above the bed is from the amazing Phohm who do the most beautiful dried flowers. My boucle cushions are by Habitat from Sainsburys. These come in stock regularly and are such a good price at £18 each! My large black vase on the floor which has the tall Pampas grass is from Zara home.
I was also sent some pretty wall hanging from a new small business called The Loop Factory. They’re so delicate and subtle and really suited the room (PR products).
I finished the room with a few vases and more dried flowers and I couldn't be happier with the space. It felt so calming and very different to how it felt before. Here are the pictures of the finished room:
